Bakunin Blitzkrieg
Alright. Game 1 of 150 point Highly Classified “speed infinity” is over.
Time to play game two. We walked to the sides of the table played “left to right” to change up the table.
Overview
- Mission: ITS14 Highly Classified
- HVT: Designation
- HVT: Identity Check
- Net Undermine
- Sabotage
- Forces: Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin versus Combined Army
- Bakunin: Follow Up
- Combined Army: ??
- Deploy First: Bakunin
- First Turn: Bakunin
Here’s a much more sane collection of classifieds. This time, I’m rocking Bakunin. Moderators really do a lot to power low-point lists like this one. I needed a Riot Grrl to cover Follow Up and HVT: Identification, so she made it in there, and then Zoe and Pi-Well do all the things.
Pi Well Do Everything
MODERATOR (Lieutenant) Combi Rifle / Pistol, PARA CC Weapon(-6). (0 | 9)
MODERATOR (Paramedic) Combi Rifle ( | MediKit) / Pistol, PARA CC Weapon(-6). (0 | 11)

ZOE FTO & Π-WELL FTO undefined / undefined. (0.5 | 44)
ZOE FTO (Hacker) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, PARA CC Weapon(-3). (0.5 | 25)
Π-WELL FTO Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse(+1B), Pitcher / PARA CC Weapon(-6). (0 | 19)

MORLOCK Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Assault Pistol, AP CC Weapon. (0 | 6)

Because I’m an awful human, the rest of the list is a Sin Eater MSR and 3x Morlocks. Whee!
Erik’s playing the same list again to get some reps in.
RCR 150 – HC
SURYAT (Lieutenant [+1 Order]) Heavy Machine Gun ( | TinBot: Firewall [-3]) / MULTI Pistol, CC Weapon. (1.5 | 45)

Deployment
Erik took deployment and I’m taking first turn. There’s lots of blocking terrain in the midfield, so I have no trouble stacking up the link in the center, and then I put Morlocks on the left, middle, and center.
Erik sets up everyone inside the tunnel system, and then puts Dr. Worm in the back along with the Taigha to guard against shenanigans.
I deploy the Sin Eater watching the main exit of the tunnel system, and then Erik counter-deploys the Sin Eater with the Speculo Killer.
Turn 1
Top of 1 – Bakunin
Erik of course takes two orders from me. The Morlocks start moving forward. The one on the left gets a little extra movement by failing guts out of LoF of the Ikadrons, who successfully flash pulse it.
I just rocket the Riot Grrl, the Moderator Paramedic, and Zoe forward. Really I should have just moved the Riot Grrl and Zoe forward. It’s not a legal link to form, but if I walk them out of coherency it’s still fine. That would have protected the Moderator Paramedic, and I certainly don’t need the extra burst. Zoe easily snags Net-Undermine and HVT: Designation.
The RIot Grrl snags Follow Up and takes a wound from the Ikadron’s flamethrowers.
Zoe scoots out of the building and snags Sabotage.
I could have attempted to go for HVT: Identity Check with the Riot Grrl, but I don’t think anything in that building will survive, and I can still get HVT: Identity Check with Pi Well because he has sensor.
Bottom of 1 – Combined Army
Well, the Sin Eater is watching the advancement path of basically everything in Erik’s list, so he has to get rid of it. Unfortunately, the Speculo easily does it and survives the return fire.
With the Sin Eater out of the way, the Speculo gets Net-Undermine.
Then Erik sends in an Ikadron to deal with my link. Zoe dies to a failed dodge and some pistol shots, and the Riot Grrl dodges into view to protect the Moderator Paramedic.
Rather than deal with the Riot Grrl with hacking or pistols, Erik uses his lieutenant orders and just guns her down with the Suryat. This is pretty efficient and is a good use of the available tools. Big thumbs up.
As I suspected, the Ikadron easily wastes the Moderator Paramedic…
and then trades itself for a Morlock.
Turn 2
Top of 2 – Bakunin
I don’t have Zoe anymore, but I can still get some work done. All I need to do is deliver Pi Well. I try to take out the Speculo with a Morlock’s impetuous order but the Speculo passes ARM…
then crits the Morlock on the irregular order.
I do manage to take out the Taigha with the Morlock on the left’s assault pistol, which is nice.
Pi Well scoots into the central building and hits the Speculo on the way, but again fails to wound it.
One more order sees me take it out, and then I easily get HVT: Identity Check.
Erik can’t get HVT: Identity Check, and I have all the classifieds, so we call the game here.
10-1, 40-112 Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin Victory!
Post Game Analysis
Well, in basically any other game type in Infinity, I probably would have lost or been very punished for being so aggressive. But wow–just being able to 4/5 objectives done on the first turn and then snag the final one that Erik cannot do on turn 2 is just brutal.
I think Erik’s big mistake here was where he deployed his HVT–it was too easy to access without interacting with his Ikadrons and other units. He null deployed too hard and let me just spend my entire first order pool on getting the mission done. I think my laser focus on the classifieds paid off here.
Maybe there’s something to be said for this type of play in a full 300 point game–just ignoring everything and throwing stuff under the bus to get points. Erik lost this game in deployment because he just gave me the HVT. He had no way of knowing I had Follow Up, but he had complete information on two HVT classifieds in the shared pool, so there’s no excuse. I think he just was in a rush and wasn’t carefully considering it.
I intentionally put the HVT very far to the side to make it difficult to access unless Erik deployed on that side, and then I could have put the Sin Eater there to punish that. Yeah, pretty straightforward game here, not much else to say. Thanks for reading!
